 একটি সিংহ ও একটি ইঁদুর

একদা একটি সিংহ বনের মধ্যে ঘুমাচ্ছিল। হঠাৎ একটি ইঁদুর সেখানে আসলো। এটা আনন্দে খেলছিল এবং দৌড়াচ্ছিল। দুর্ভাগ্যক্রমে এটা সিংহের মুখের উপর উঠে পড়ল। এটা সিংহকে জাগিয়ে তুলল। সিংহটি তখন খুব রাগান্বিত হয়ে উঠল। এটি ক্রোধে গর্জন করছিল। ইঁদুরটি ভীত হয়ে পড়ল এবং কাঁপতে শুরু করল। সিংহটি বলল, “এ ছোট বদমাশ, তোর কত বড় সাহস আমাকে বিরক্ত করিস? আমি তোকে হত্যা করব?" ইঁদুরটি মহাবিপদে পড়ল। এটি সিংহের কাছে জীবন ভিক্ষা চাইল। এটি সিংহকে যেকোনো সময় সাহায্য করার প্রতিশ্রুতি দিল যদি তার প্রয়োজন হয়। একথা শুনে, সিংহটি হাসতে লাগল। সে বলল, “তোমার মত ক্ষুদ্র প্রাণী কীভাবে আমাকে সাহায্য করবে?” সে ইঁদুরটিকে নিয়ে তামাসা করল এবং মুক্তি দিল। 

কয়েকদিন পর একজন শিকারী একটি ফাঁদ পেতে ছিল এবং সিংহটি সে ফাঁদে পড়ল। সিংহটি এটা থেকে বের হওয়ার সর্বোচ্চ চেষ্টা করল কিন্তু ব্যর্থ হলো। ইঁদুর পরিস্থিতিটি খেয়াল করল এবং সিংহকে সাহায্য করার সিদ্ধান্ত নিল। এটি (ইঁদুর) তার তীক্ষ্ণ দাঁত দিয়ে জ্বাল কাটা শুরু করল। কিছু সময় পর সিংহটি ফাঁদ থেকে বেরিয়ে আসতে সক্ষম হলো এবং তার জীবন বাঁচানোর জন্য ইঁদুরকে ধন্যবাদ দিল। কাজেই, ক্ষুদ্র প্রাণী বলে কাউকে অবজ্ঞা করা উচিত নয়।

A lion and a mouse 

Once a lion was sleeping in a forest. Suddenly a mouse came there. It was running about and playing happily. By chance it ran over the face of the lion. It awoke the lion. At this the lion grew very angry. It roared with anger. The mouse got frightened and started trembling. The lion said, "How dare you disturb me, the small evil? I will kill you?" The mouse fell in great danger. It begged it's life to the lion. It also promised to help the lion in future if he needed. Hearing this, the lion laughed at him. He said, "How will a small creature like you help me?" He mocked at the mouse and relieved him. 

After a few days a hunter set a trap and the lion was caught in the trap. The lion tried his utmost to escape from it but failed. The mouse noticed the situation and decided to help the lion. It started to cut off the net with its sharp teeth. After sometime, the lion was able to get out from the trap and thanked the mouse for saving his life.So, nobody should neglect anyone treating as a small creature.
